February 23, 2023–Any company using Microsoft products should be aware of a required upcoming Microsoft 365 renewal. Companies should be prepared to complete their renewals before February 28th.

We’re covering everything you need to know about the upcoming renewal, why it’s required, and how you can prepare for future required renewals.

Why Do I Have to Renew Microsoft 365?

For Microsoft 365 users, Microsoft is requiring this renewal for users to stay up to date on their products. Failure to renew will result in lost functionality.

If your company fails to renew, admins and users will no longer have access to the services or Office applications that came with the subscription. All customer data–from user data to documents and email–is permanently deleted and is unrecoverable. At this point, you would be unable to reactivate the subscription.

What Do I Get With the Microsoft 365 Renewal?

The renewal doesn’t include any new services, it just keeps your existing Microsoft 365 subscription functioning without interruptions.

Microsoft 365 includes the Office desktop apps, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and more. You also gain access to extra online storage and cloud-connected features that let you collaborate on files in real time.
